About The Position

This is a long-term employment opportunity to provide leadership for project teams, manage the overall daily operations of projects and subcontractors, and develop strong working relationships with clients.

Requirements

  • Accredited 5-year degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Federal and/or Private construction projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction cost, schedule, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles.
  • Experience with Switch Gear Replacement and heavy electric scope projects.
  • Experience with projects of 750-day duration.
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including MS Office and Plan Grid.
  • Advanced presentation skills.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
  • Ability to implement leading-edge technologies such as Primavera and LEAN.
  • Must be LEED Accredited.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all staff assigned to the project, including managers and supervisors heading up various functions such as Quality, Superintendents, and Safety.
  • Understand and administer the Company’s prime contract and subcontract agreements.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in compliance with Corporate/Division policies and Federal government requirements.
  • Manage project budget and financial reporting, interpreting and analyzing reports to ensure adherence to the project budget.
  • Manage the financial aspects of contracts, including rental equipment, income, and expenses, to protect the Company's interests while maintaining good client relationships.
  • Pre-qualify and evaluate potential bidders, issue and prepare inquiry packages, award contracts, and issue change orders.
  • Negotiate and process extra work claims.
  • Prepare the initial master schedule and oversee its updates.
  • Oversee cost control and change management systems.
  • Manage and administer the project’s Small Business Subcontracting Plan.
  • Attend and lead project meetings, including progress, pre-construction, and pre-award meetings.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements throughout the business unit.
  • Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee, and pricing decisions.
  • Drive the enforcement of safety protocols by the project staff.
  • Oversee the administration of the quality assurance/quality control program.
  • Oversee project close-out, including owner contact for post-constructions and the warranty period.
  • Provide estimating support for the Division on an as-needed basis.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required by the Division’s operating needs or as directed by the Division Manager.
