Field Project Engineer - Concrete

AlphaKahului, HI
Onsite

About The Position

Alpha Inc. is looking for a Field Project Engineer who knows concrete work does not run on guesswork, excuses, or back-office theory. This is not a clipboard-only role. This is a boots-on-the-ground, details-matter, solve-it-before-it-becomes-a-problem kind of role. You will be in the field helping drive concrete operations forward — coordinating work, tracking production, supporting quality, solving issues in real time, and making sure crews, subcontractors, and project leadership stay aligned from pre-pour planning to closeout. If you can read the plans, anticipate the miss, communicate clearly, and keep work moving without losing sight of safety, quality, or accountability — keep reading. Founded and grown in Hawaiʻi, Alpha Inc. is a locally owned leader in heavy civil construction, renewable energy, concrete services, drilling, and infrastructure solutions. We build work that matters to island communities — and we do it with grit, precision, and pride. Everything we do is grounded in our core values: Leading with Heart – We create a supportive and respectful environment where crews, subcontractors, and project teams can perform at their best. Strength in Unity – We believe strong communication and collaboration win jobs. Alpha Mentality – We bring excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement to every phase of the work. As Field Project Engineer, you will help bring those values to life in the field every day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in concrete construction, field engineering, project engineering, or commercial construction support roles preferred.
  • Working knowledge of concrete construction methods, including formwork, reinforcement, embeds, placement, finishing, curing, and quality control practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and shop drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction/project management software; experience with Bluebeam, Procore, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced field environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work well with crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and project leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, sound judgment, and a willingness to take initiative in supporting field operations.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • OSHA certifications and other industry-related training are a plus.
  • Completion of standard pre-employment screening.
  • Successful completion of a background check conducted after a conditional offer; any prior issues will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis consistent with Hawaiʻi and federal law.
  • Passing a drug test (for both full-time and part-time hires) conducted in line with Hawaiʻi statutory requirements.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; we are unable to sponsor employment visas.
