About The Position
Cargill is a family company providing food and agricultural solutions in a safe, responsible, and sustainable way. This position is part of the Food Enterprise, which serves food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers with a range of ingredients and branded products. The Process Engineer optimizes interconnected components of a manufacturing system by developing and applying engineering standards and procedures and advising on engineering issues. The role helps coordinate plant location, personnel workflow and ergonomics, materials logistics, production process sequence, and equipment layouts. The position is based in Hammond, Indiana, and is a day-shift role. Relocation assistance is provided; visa sponsorship is not provided.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- At least two years of related work experience.
- Other minimum qualifications may apply.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering subject matter.
Responsibilities
- Help manufacturing plant and facilities engineers with facility planning and design.
- Conduct cost, inventory, production-control, and human-factors studies to develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revised operating methods.
- Follow prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolve problems.
- Contribute to designing and improving manufacturing processes, instruments, and equipment, and test manufactured products to maintain quality.
- Connect with relevant personnel across departments or the business to benchmark practices and assist in creating strategies.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision and escalate more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
