Process Engineer in Joining Technologies

Bosch Group•North Charleston, SC

About The Position

This role is a process engineer and technical expert in joining technologies, specifically automated screw driving and press fitting. The position owns existing joining processes within the plant and participates in the Bosch Center of Competency and International Production Network. It focuses on optimizing and troubleshooting automated assembly processes to ensure precise, reliable mechanical connections while reducing cycle times and defect rates. The engineer specifies, debugs, and improves press machines, automated screwdrivers, and torque-controlled systems. The role uses data-driven methods to resolve production issues such as torque deviations, improper seating, and material misalignment, and supports maintenance, trials, capacity planning, and process capability work. It leads the development and implementation of new processes, technologies, equipment upgrades, and projects to improve cycle time and overall equipment effectiveness. The position defines and manages critical process parameters, collaborates with internal and external partners on process and equipment optimization, and communicates with lead plants and expert teams about technologies and improvements. It also involves project and team leadership, as well as mentoring and training associates in screw driving and pressing processes.
