About The Position

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• Must complete HeartSaver CPR by the end of the orientation period
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly
• Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information
• Absolute integrity and accuracy in the patient identification process

Nice To Haves

• MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (i.e. ASCP or AMT) preferred
• Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of biology and 6 semester hours of chemistry preferred
• Previous work experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtains blood specimens from patients
• Delivers specimens to the laboratory and/or sends through the transport system
• Correctly identifies patients and specimens
