About The Position
Wegmans pharmacy technicians help build customer trust by providing attentive service and supporting customers’ medical care and health-service needs. This role is in a fast-paced pharmacy and involves preparing and dispensing medications accurately and in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. The position is part-time, with morning, afternoon, and evening availability required, including weekends. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Depending on state and location requirements, national technician certification and/or state registration may be required; Wegmans may hire candidates before they obtain these qualifications and will support them through the process.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Proficient computer and data-entry skills.
- Basic math skills, including unit conversions, for dosage calculations and day-supply calculations.
- Problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service with patience, empathy, and care in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform dosage calculations and unit conversions while following regulatory standards and company policies for safe, compliant medication preparation and dispensing.
- Troubleshoot rejected insurance claims and address issues to support customers.
- Enter prescription information accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
- Handle medications properly and follow department policies and procedures.
