About The Position
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking an Audio-Visual Operator to set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV equipment for events and daily activities. The operator works with event coordinators, technical staff, and clients to understand event requirements and tailor AV setups, providing reliable technical support and helping maintain a smooth event experience. Attention to detail and quick problem-solving are essential. The role also assists the Banquet Team in operating in a for-profit environment and delivering guest service beyond expectations to meet or exceed budgeted expectations. As part of the leadership team, the operator is expected to support the company’s Lead with Love approach.
Requirements
- Experience operating audio-visual equipment in a live event or hospitality environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- Understanding of sound systems, video projection, and lighting equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working in a resort, conference center, or large event venue.
Responsibilities
- Set up, test, and operate microphones, speakers, projectors, video screens, lighting systems, and other audio-visual equipment for events and daily activities.
- Monitor and adjust sound and visual quality during events to support optimal performance and guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with event planners and technical staff to understand event requirements and customize AV setups.
- Maintain and inventory AV equipment, ensure devices are in good working condition, and report maintenance needs.
- Assist in training staff on basic AV equipment use and safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize disruptions during live events.
- Assist the Banquet Team in delivering guest service beyond expectations and meeting or exceeding budgeted expectations.
