About The Position

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a relevant nursing position.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Current, active Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado.
• BLS certification.
• NRP certification.
• Ability to use hands for manual tasks and communication.
• Ability to stand, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch frequently.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Close vision for detail-oriented tasks and ability to adjust focus between different distances.

Nice To Haves

• PALS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate the health status of laboring patients and neonates and participate in collaborative care planning.
• Provide direct patient care and monitor patient responses during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases.
• Promote wellness and provide education for mothers during pregnancy and postpartum.
• Document care and education in patient medical records.
• Communicate patient conditions to physicians and nursing supervisors.
• Maintain clinical skills and learn new procedures with Family Birthing Center staff.
• Collaborate with nursery nurses in the care of mother-baby couplets.
• Assist physicians with medical procedures as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment within the unit.
• Provide patient-care support in other units as needed, including Med Surg, telemetry, and emergency departments.
