About The Position

Requirements

• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• A BS in Exercise Science or related field is required.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Nice To Haves

• 1 to 2 years of experience in a hospital based cardiac or pulmonary rehab program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as defined by the State of New Jersey and standards established by the American Association of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and the American College of Sports Medicine.
• Conduct exercise physiology evaluation and treatment of Phase 2 and Phase 3 patients.
• Foster a safe and effective exercise environment.
• Implement programs established by the department.
• Supervise monitored and maintenance patients.
• Provide case management for Phase 3 patients.
• Conduct initial exercise evaluation of patients with complex medical needs.
• Provide initial exercise session instruction.
• Progress exercise prescription per protocols.
• Educate patients on risk factor modification.
• Read and interpret telemetry tracing and patient’s response to exercise.
