About The Position
Join a fast-paced medical setting dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care as a Telemetry Registered Nurse on the MS/Tele unit. The unit is on the third floor and has 96 beds, all telemetry-capable, with dedicated technicians monitoring telemetry. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4–6, and nurse aide ratios are 1:8–16. The position includes a comprehensive onboarding orientation of up to three shifts. RNs may be asked to float within their scope as needed. Preferred attire is a navy top and bottom.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience.
- BLS certification.
- NIHSS certification.
- Washington or Compact license.
Nice To Haves
- Navy top and bottom attire is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients with conditions including CHF, COPD, pneumonia, general surgical needs, stroke, and cardiac issues.
- Titrate intravenous drips, such as Heparin, and administer other medications as necessary.
- Collaborate with nurses and monitor technicians to validate, read, and document telemetry readings.
- Provide orientation and support to new staff members during onboarding.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and family members about patient status and care.
- Float within the RN’s scope as needed.
