About The Position
Arauco is hiring a Millwright (also referred to as a Mechanical Technician/Millwright) for its Malvern team. The role works a rotating schedule of 8-to-8 shifts: three days on, three days off, three nights on, and three days off, repeating. The Millwright responds to mill breakdowns, works with operators to resolve maintenance issues, investigates equipment failures, recommends long-term fixes, and performs assigned work orders and preventive or predictive maintenance activities. The position emphasizes safety, reliability, accurate maintenance documentation, and collaboration with operational partners, departmental peers, and direct supervisors. The work takes place in a mill environment that may include dust, chemicals, high noise levels, and varying temperatures. Physical requirements include moving throughout the facility and lifting or carrying materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Requirements
- Verifiable industrial experience as a Millwright.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of industrial mechanic experience, including work with bearings, hydraulics, pumps, and gearboxes.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Experience with reliability techniques and knowledge of lubrication principles.
- Hydraulic system aptitude and knowledge of system maintenance best practices.
- Ability to perform precision maintenance practices to improve asset reliability, including following instructions, measuring bearing and shaft fits, and using a torque wrench, V-belt tension meter, and laser alignment equipment.
- Ability to understand and read hydraulic and mechanical drawings.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and ability to understand and execute preventive maintenance plans.
- Ability to move freely throughout the facility, climb stairs and ladders, and navigate around equipment and machinery.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch to inspect and maintain equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks involving lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels, and varying temperatures.
Responsibilities
- Respond to mill breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner and work closely with area operators to resolve maintenance-related issues.
- Prioritize personal and co-worker safety when performing work.
- Investigate the root cause of equipment failure and recommend long-term fixes.
- Lead troubleshooting and properly document maintenance-related items using SAP Notifications.
- Complete assigned work orders and preventive or predictive maintenance activities based on established priorities, and confirm completed work promptly.
- Remain aware of maintenance issues throughout the mill or assigned area.
- Collaborate with operational partners, departmental peers, and direct supervisors.
