About The Position

Turner Industries Group is seeking an experienced Millwright for a maintenance position in Port Allen, Louisiana. The role installs and maintains machinery and equipment in industrial establishments according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions. It is a non-exempt position reporting to the Foreman. Duties are assigned according to specific procedures and work is checked frequently. The schedule is 4/10s.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One to four years of experience in the specified skill, depending on mechanic level.
Comply with company and client job-site safety requirements.
Pass a post-offer drug and alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
Sign acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

NCCER certification may be required at some job sites.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Dismantle machines and move machinery and equipment.
Assemble and install equipment, including shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines, and blowers.
Align machines and equipment using the reverse alignment method.
Assemble machines and fasten them to foundations or other structures by bolting, welding, riveting, or other means.
Operate an engine lathe as needed to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
Repair and lubricate machines and equipment as needed.
Participate in grouting equipment base plates as needed.
Remove plant equipment, disassemble it, repair it, and reinstall it.
Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
