About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Minimum of 4 years of combined experience and training similar to that required in a bona fide apprenticeship program as a Millwright; or a U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate as a Millwright; or eight (8) years of documented Millwright experience; or five (5) years of documented Millwright experience and three (3) years in a related trade
• Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work any shift and work overtime, including daily, weekends and holidays as required
• Experience as a millwright in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work from layout plans, blueprints, drawings or other specifications to determine work procedures
• Ability and knowledge to dismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools
• Ability and knowledge in welding including arc, acetylene and hydrogen
• Ability to properly move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks
• Ability and knowledge to properly use tools and equipment such as drill presses, power saws, chain falls, jacks, skids, slings, burning torches, and other types of portable and hand tools
• Ability to clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery
• Perform incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

• Ability to provide mechanical support to manufacturing operations to locate and diagnose trouble in mechanical systems or equipment
• Ability to complete required preventive maintenance at defined intervals on all mechanical equipment
• Ability to perform tasks historically assigned to other mechanical classifications (i.e., pipefitter, machine repair) and other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and company
• Strong computer skills
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
• Knowledge of G-Suite

Responsibilities

• Installing, assembling, and, when necessary, dismantling machinery, conveyor systems, pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
• Transporting and locating machines and equipment to the desired location according to floor plans, or as directed using fork lifts, hoists, winches, cranes and other equipment
• Assembling machines or equipment from their component parts
• Understanding how a machine functions to assemble and disassemble it properly
• Using complex instruction books that detail the assembly of the machinery
• Using tools such as levels, welding machines, and hydraulic torque wrenches
• Using micrometers and other precision measuring devices to achieve the extreme tolerances required
• Cleaning, lubricating, or adjusting parts, equipment, or machinery
• Performing incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task
