About The Position

Turner Industries Group, LLC is hiring a Millwright Planner for its Project Controls Team. The role is based at a jobsite in Norco, Louisiana, or the surrounding area. The planner may be asked to plan maintenance, turnarounds, small capital projects, or a combination of these. Relevant experience with rotating equipment, gearboxes, and alignment systems with very small tolerance limits is needed. The position includes reviewing specifications and drawings, estimating work scope, quantities, materials, labor, outside services, and subcontractors, and maintaining estimate documentation.

Requirements

• Four years of field planning experience in any combination of industrial maintenance, capital projects, outages, and turnarounds.
• Four years of jobsite mechanical craft experience, or a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related curriculum.
• Strong background in planning piping and/or structural work scopes.
• Ability to estimate material and labor quantities from industrial construction drawings across multiple craft disciplines.
• Proficiency with computer-based Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must have or meet the requirements to receive a TWIC card.
• Relevant experience with rotating equipment, gearboxes, and alignment systems with very small tolerance limits.

Nice To Haves

• NCCER certification, craft journeyman status, or foreman experience in industrial construction, maintenance, or turnarounds.
• Experience with planning software applications; Turner Applications WinTake®, QuickPlan®, and Win PCS® experience is an additional benefit.

Responsibilities

• Review specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine the scope of work and contents required for an estimate.
• Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoffs of the work scope, materials, outside services, and subcontractors.
• Review and incorporate historical data into resource and man-hour estimates.
• Estimate extras, change orders, and discovery work items.
• Maintain working-document files and supporting estimate figures.
• Plan maintenance, turnarounds, small capital projects, or a combination of these.
