About The Position

Requirements

• Proficiency with keyboard use and data entry in clinical or administrative systems.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs, which may include weekends, holidays, on-call coverage, or overtime.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one (1) year of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, venipuncture, and capillary blood collection.
• Completion of medical training, such as a medical assistant or paramedic program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent).
• National phlebotomy certification (ex: ASCP, AMT, NGA NCCT).

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and collection services in accordance with Ascend Clinical's policies and procedures.
• Perform specimen processing and/or preparation activities (centrifuging, specimen splitting, labeling, requisitioning, stocking, and organizing phlebotomy area).
• Arrange for and assist with shipment, delivery, or return of specimens to Ascend Clinical for testing.
• Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment provided by Ascend Clinical for Ascend Clinical testing only.
• Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling at all times.
• Adhere to all HIPAA confidentiality and privacy requirements.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and quality assurance policies.
• Perform additional duties as required by Ascend Clinical.
• Perform phlebotomy services under the supervision of qualified laboratory or clinical personnel as required by state regulations.
