About The Position

Heartline Staffing is recruiting an Ecological Restoration Project Manager for an onsite opportunity in Tampa, Florida. This senior-level position combines ecological restoration and mitigation design with comprehensive project management responsibilities across scope, schedule and budget. The role has a strong emphasis on Florida projects while providing opportunities to contribute to projects across a broader geographic footprint. The Project Manager will lead technical resources, manage assigned project staff and subconsultants, coordinate with clients, and deliver ecological restoration projects involving streams, wetlands and other natural habitats and ecosystems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited engineering program REQUIRED
  • 12+ years of experience designing ecological restoration / mitigation projects REQUIRED
  • Professional Engineer license in Florida REQUIRED
  • Rosgen Level 4 Certification or similar River Course accreditation REQUIRED
  • Stream / wetland assessment and design experience REQUIRED
  • Wetland and forest stand delineation experience REQUIRED
  • Hydrologic modeling experience using TR55 / TR20 and Rational Methodologies REQUIRED
  • Hydraulic modeling experience using HEC-RAS REQUIRED
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation drafting experience REQUIRED
  • GIS experience using ArcMap REQUIRED
  • Community engagement and landowner interaction experience REQUIRED
  • Stream survey and assessment experience, including laser-level survey equipment and sediment sampling procedures REQUIRED
  • Joint Permit coordination and application-preparation experience REQUIRED
  • Construction management / oversight experience REQUIRED
  • Ability to travel REQUIRED

  • Experience with Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build and/or Full Delivery project delivery methods

Responsibilities

  • Lead ecological restoration and mitigation project design
  • Perform stream and wetland assessment and design
  • Perform wetland and forest stand delineation
  • Conduct stream surveys and assessments
  • Operate laser-level survey equipment and support sediment sampling procedures
  • Coordinate Joint Permits and prepare permit applications
  • Provide construction management and oversight
  • Perform hydrologic modeling using TR55, TR20 and Rational Methodologies
  • Perform hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS
  • Apply technical modeling and engineering expertise to ecological restoration projects
  • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation for drafting
  • Use ArcMap for GIS applications
  • Coordinate technical resources across project teams
  • Develop and maintain project-specific quality plans
  • Deliver assigned project objectives for scope, schedule and budget
  • Develop project management plans
  • Establish project pricing and budgets
  • Create and maintain project schedules
  • Develop and coordinate project scope
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, accounts receivable and manpower requirements
  • Prepare invoices
  • Manage subconsultants
  • Manage technical resources and assigned project staff
  • Develop extra-work-order requests and open-end contract task proposals
  • Participate in client presentations
  • Support community engagement and landowner interaction
  • Collaborate with technical experts across natural and water-resource disciplines
  • Assist leadership with marketing proposals
  • Support client relationships and environmental-services growth
  • Ability to travel
  • Occasional field work in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, wet, humid and dry/arid environments
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
  • Approximately 90% of work is performed in a general office environment
