About The Position

Trane is hiring for a 3rd shift Maintenance Mechanic in Trenton, NJ! This role is responsible for ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and performing repairs on various systems. The ideal candidate will be proficient in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, able to read blueprints, and maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman License/Certification preferred
  • Equivalent years’ experience performing complex mechanical work in industrial maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions by observing mechanical devices, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, and hand and power tools.
  • Determines dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Fabricates repair parts using machine shop equipment such as vertical milling machines, drill presses, lathes, and welding equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock, anticipating needs, and placing orders.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
  • Documents and communicates actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to work teams.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Observes safe work practices and ensures work does not endanger others.
  • Reads blueprints, lays out, installs, and maintains various equipment.
