About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Machinist experience is an asset.
• Experience in machine operation.
• Experience using measurement equipment and tooling applications.
• Programming, editing, and programming experience; knowledge of G-code/M-code and CAD/CAM software.
• Functional and technical skills, conceptual skills, and process improvement skills.
• Blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to sit, bend, stand, and walk for 8–10 hours per day.
• Ability to lift 55 pounds.
• Must comply with applicable safety and PPE requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience working in an API Q1/ISO 9001:2015 environment is a plus.
• Mill experience is preferred.
• Manual mill or lathe operation is preferred.
• Previous tool and die experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan machining by reviewing job packets, routings, notes, blueprints, materials, specifications, reference planes and orientations, surface locations, and machining parameters; interpret GD&T.
• Program mills and/or lathes using CAD/CAM software or G/M-code, including setting zero and reference points, tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; prove part programs and maintain updated programs.
• Set up mills and/or lathes by selecting, installing, indicating, and adjusting work-holding equipment, tools, fixtures, tool holders, attachments, indexers, and stops.
• Verify machine settings by measuring the first piece and submitting it for approval; perform sampling measurements during production runs at ISO procedure frequencies.
• Maintain specifications by observing machine cycles, taking measurements, troubleshooting, adjusting and reprogramming, monitoring and replacing tools, and following quality procedures.
• Meet mill setup and run times and report difficulties to the shop lead.
• Document actions, irregularities, and needs; complete production and quality paperwork; and establish or maintain an organized setup-note system.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized working conditions by following safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, reporting repairs requiring service to the shop supervisor, and keeping equipment clean.
• Support and participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program to conform to API Q1/ISO 9001:2015 requirements; comply with the Quality Policy and procedures and meet QMS objectives.
• Understand the implications of failing to conform to QMS requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Conduct oneself professionally, follow established quality, health, and safety policies and procedures, respect facilities and equipment, arrive on time, take breaks at designated times, and assist or perform other assigned tasks.
• Manage client relationships, drive sales growth, and provide technical support for downhole pump products and services; communicate proactively, solve problems, and deliver tailored solutions to meet operational needs.
