About The Position

CIRCOR Naval Solutions is seeking a Machinist to operate a manual lathe on second shift. The role involves operating specialized machinery to machine metal components according to defined processes and technical prints, working to close tolerances. Training is provided on second shift, which carries a 15% differential. The candidate should have manual lathe experience and be patient and attentive to detail.

Requirements

Manual lathe experience.
At least three years of experience.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to work more than eight hours in a shift.
Ability to read blueprints and geometric tolerances.
Instrumentation and gaging skills.
Familiarity with machinist and hand tools, including micrometers, verniers, indicators, scales, and dial bore gages.
Willingness to accept coaching and training and learn all machines within a cell.
U.S. citizenship is required for Department of Defense requirements.

Nice To Haves

A concentration in machining.
Crane and hoisting experience.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate a manual lathe.
Interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Use machine controls and precision measurement tools.
Perform lathe machining operations.
Conduct quality checks and monitor machine operations.
Plan and perform rough and finish machining on a variety of CNC and manual machines.
Perform setups independently.
Operate and understand advanced machine tools, including CNC equipment.
Perform other duties as responsibilities necessitate.
