About The Position

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Education: a minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited university preferably in at least one of the core content areas.
• Licensure: Current state certification as a classroom teacher in at least one of the core content areas.
• Experience: a minimum of two years of experience as a classroom teacher and at least one year of experience supervising and/or evaluating classroom teachers.
• ESL Certification is required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Electronic Case Management software.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB.

Responsibilities

• Uphold our educational policies and integrate the common core government guidelines into each class curriculum.
• Create benchmarks for students and teachers and track progress towards those goals.
• Develop programs that improve teacher performance and assist students in understanding class material better.
• Provide instructional leadership, direction, and feedback to education staff.
• Provide Job Training for all new staff members.
• Mentor all new Facilitators as per the Education program’s Coaching/Mentorship model.
• Adhere to the Sunny Glen Children’s Home policy and procedures, ORR policy, and guidelines.
• Provide guidance to the school’s network of student leaders and challenge those leaders to make the school a better place.
• Respond immediately to concerns from students, school administrators, or facilities managers.
• Model effective instructional strategies, ability to develop and evaluate teacher performance, and experience with a blended model to include computer-based classroom instruction.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish
• Other duties as assigned.
