About The Position

The South Shore YMCA is seeking passionate and nurturing Teachers and Lead Teachers for the State Street Early Learning Center at Hale Family YMCA. The role involves creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally enriching environment for children to learn and grow. This position focuses on inspiring, nurturing, and leading young learners.

Requirements

  • Teacher: Must hold EEC Teacher certification through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
  • Lead Teacher: Must hold EEC Lead Teacher certification through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
  • Knowledge of EEC regulations, QRIS Standards, and NAEYC best practices.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.

Nice To Haves

  • Classroom experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging lesson plans that support children's physical, cognitive, and emotional development.
  • Foster strong relationships with children and families, keeping them informed of their progress.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment where every child feels valued.
  • Work with a team of educators to create a positive, cohesive classroom atmosphere.
  • Maintain compliance with EEC regulations, NAEYC best practices, and quality standards.
