About The Position

The Laborer will perform a variety of tasks to support construction operations, taking inventory, you will me managing, tracking, controlling the materials, tools, and equipment that come in and out of the jobsite. Other duties include material handling, site cleanup, and assisting skilled tradespeople. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors.
  • Commitment to safety, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating hazards on the job site.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in construction or related field is a plus but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and materials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Check inventory, track, manage, handle, and control all materials, tools, and equipment that come to the job.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of construction materials, equipment, and tools, ensuring safe and efficient handling and transportation to designated work areas.
  • Organize and maintain construction materials, supplies, and equipment on-site, keeping inventory well-organized and accessible to crew members.
  • Perform general cleanup and debris removal at construction sites, including sweeping, shoveling, and disposing of waste materials in designated containers or disposal areas.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and housekeeping standards.
  • Provide assistance and support to skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, ironworkers, and welders, by fetching tools, materials, and equipment as needed.
  • Assist with simple construction tasks, such as digging trenches, pouring concrete, and setting up scaffolding, under the direction of experienced workers.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety training sessions.
  • Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to supervisors immediately and take appropriate corrective actions as directed.
  • Assist with basic maintenance and cleaning of construction equipment, tools, and machinery, including lubricating moving parts, cleaning surfaces, and performing routine inspections.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or defects to supervisors for repair or replacement.
  • Work collaboratively with other crew members, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely completion of construction tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to receive instructions, provide updates on work progress, and coordinate activities.
