About The Position

The General Laborer assists with all aspects of fabrication and moves between departments as needed. The role also includes general cleaning and maintenance duties throughout the facility. The position is based in a manufacturing shop environment and requires following safety protocols and handling materials safely.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Basic computer skills sufficient to follow general instructions for clocking in and out of the payroll system.
• Self-motivation and determination to succeed and advance into other positions when qualified opportunities become available.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to wear and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and crawl frequently.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare production areas.
• Assist other workers on-site with various jobs.
• Handle and transport needed materials.
• Follow supervisors’ instructions to perform manual labor tasks.
• Comply with safety protocols to help ensure employee safety.
• Assist machine operators with loading and unloading material.
• Clean, sort, and stage parts within the Material Prep area.
• Supply or sort materials for production workers as needed.
• Sweep and wipe down designated areas.
• Maintain open communication with the supervisor.
• Follow safe handling guidelines when using chemical liquids and powders.
