About The Position

FNF Construction, a general contractor providing heavy civil construction services throughout the Southwestern United States, is seeking an onsite General Laborer. The Laborer assists journeyman trades and crews with general, highway, roadway, landscape construction, maintenance, site development, and demolition work. Duties may include site preparation, earthwork, trenching, grading, planting, sod installation, debris removal, asphalt paving, concrete placement, form fabrication, turf and plant installation, irrigation setup, traffic control, signage, and job-site safety procedures. The role uses hand tools, power tools, and handheld equipment such as jackhammers, earth tampers, and landscape machinery. It involves frequent travel to accommodate project schedules, outdoor work in all weather conditions, and carrying materials weighing up to 60 pounds.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are often required.
• Ability to understand and follow traffic-control plans and safety procedures.
• Strong communication skills to interact with drivers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Basic knowledge of road-construction safety practices and traffic laws.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift equipment, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to remain alert, attentive, and focused in a high-risk environment.
• Dependability and punctuality.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman trades and crews with general, highway, roadway, and landscape construction and demolition projects.
• Perform site preparation, grading, earthwork, trenching, planting, sod installation, and debris removal.
• Handle and carry materials weighing up to 60 pounds and climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and handheld equipment such as jackhammers, earth tampers, and landscape machinery.
• Support asphalt paving, concrete placement, form fabrication, turf and plant installation, and irrigation setup.
• Assist with traffic-control setup, signage, and job-site safety procedures.
• Travel frequently to various project sites and maintain flexibility for project work schedules.
