About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to read technical procedures and drawings and understand manufacturer manuals.
• Ability to work independently performing basic rotating-equipment service or maintenance.
• Ability to take accurate measurements and complete documentation.
• Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in teams.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
• Ability to use problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to select and use appropriate tools, machines, and materials; operate hand and power tools; and apply proper bolt-torquing techniques.
• Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and measurement devices such as micrometers and Vernier calipers.
• Ability to perform general machining techniques using lathes, mills, drills, shapers, or grinders.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment and use respiratory equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus.
• Ability to climb, enter vessels through manways, and work in elevated locations or confined spaces; perform the physical activities described, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, or otherwise transporting up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work overtime, holidays, weekends, scheduled time off, or shift work as required, and to be available for callouts.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Nice To Haves

• Millwright certification, preferably through a two-year certificate program.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing steam turbines and gas compressors.
• Ability to perform general machining using lathes, mills, and drills.
• Willingness to obtain Level I vibration analysis certification, qualified rigger/signal training, a 9-ton carry-deck qualification, and Fundamentals of AMS 2140 training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain rotating equipment, including pumps, steam turbines, gearboxes, fans, blowers, mixers, and compressors.
• Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, assessment, repair, disassembly, inspection, cleaning, reporting, and reassembly of rotating equipment in shop and field settings.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair rotating equipment and ancillary equipment to design standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Read and interpret technical procedures, drawings, schematics, and manufacturer manuals.
• Complete applicable quality documentation, feedback sheets, and maintenance records in electronic or paper form.
• Perform routine safety observations and inspections and participate in safety activities and training.
• Align equipment to industry standards using laser alignment equipment.
• Collect and review vibration data monthly or more frequently as appropriate.
• Enter and retrieve machinery maintenance information in systems such as FT Maintenance.
• Participate in cross-functional root cause analysis teams and contribute insight and ideas.
• Participate in reviews of spare-parts inventories and spare-equipment strategies for new and existing equipment.
• Perform general machining and operate shop machinery and tools; fabricate or modify parts as needed.
• Adjust packing and install and inspect mechanical seals.
• Measure, examine, and test completed work to detect defects and verify conformance.
• As applicable, maintain and repair forklifts and material-handling equipment, diagnose faults, and keep maintenance records and parts inventories.
• Work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and support plant operations.
