About The Position

Sylvamo’s Ticonderoga, New York mill is located on the shores of Lake Champlain. Operating since 1971, the mill produces high-end printing and technical papers harvested from Adirondack and Vermont forests, and employs over 600 people focused on safety, environment, quality, and production.

This journeyman-level millwright position is responsible for completing scheduled and routine maintenance work, along with performing other duties independently and as part of a team. The hourly pay rate is $38.12 as of June 1, 2026. Applicants who meet the qualifications will be invited to complete a prescreen assessment.

Requirements

• At least a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience as a millwright apprentice or helper and attainment of journeyman status.
• Willingness and ability to work all shifts.

Nice To Haves

• A mechanical industrial technology degree or a certificate from an accredited college or trade school.
• Experience with shaft alignment.
• Experience with bearing installation.
• Knowledge of precision practices.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of measuring fits and tolerances.
• Knowledge of power transmissions and rotating equipment.
• Motivation and a results-driven approach, with the ability to work well on a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
