About The Position
At Paul Davis Restoration, we do more than repair buildings—we help families and businesses recover after unexpected disasters. Every project makes a real difference in someone's life, and we're looking for an experienced Journeyman Carpenter who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, values teamwork, and enjoys a variety of restoration and reconstruction projects. If you're a skilled carpenter who enjoys problem-solving, takes ownership of your work, and wants to be part of a supportive, growing team, we'd love to hear from you. As a Journeyman Carpenter, you'll play a key role in restoring residential and commercial properties damaged by fire, water, storms, and other disasters. You'll work alongside Project Managers and Reconstruction teams to deliver exceptional workmanship and customer service.
Requirements
- Alberta Journeyman Carpenter Certificate (or recognized equivalent).
- Minimum 3+ years of carpentry experience (restoration experience is an asset).
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices.
- Working knowledge of Alberta Building Code.
- Valid Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and reliability.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Nice To Haves
- restoration experience is an asset
Responsibilities
- Performing all aspects of residential and commercial carpentry, including: Framing, Drywall installation and repairs, Finishing and trim work, Doors, Flooring, Cabinet installation, Minor concrete work
- Completing reconstruction projects to Paul Davis quality standards, project specifications, and Alberta building codes.
- Reading and interpreting drawings, scopes of work, and work orders.
- Identifying deficiencies or changes in project scope and communicating them promptly.
- Maintaining clean, safe, and organized job sites.
- Operating and maintaining company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Mentoring apprentices and labourers while promoting safe work practices.
- Providing exceptional customer service while interacting professionally with homeowners, business owners, subcontractors, and teammates.
- Completing daily documentation, time records, and material tracking accurately.
- Participating in an on-call rotation and occasional overtime when required.
