About The Position
Dietrich Construction is a self-performing General Contractor operating in the Fargo, North Dakota / Moorhead, Minnesota area. The company is seeking skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Journeyman Carpenters to support its construction projects. The role involves hands-on field execution, delivering high-quality craftsmanship, and mentoring apprentices on site. Journeyman Carpenters work closely with site foremen and project managers to complete projects safely, on time, and to the company's quality standards. Work includes framing, exterior trim, window and door installations, and interior finish work. The position also involves interpreting architectural plans, assisting with material tracking and waste reduction, maintaining an organized and safe jobsite, and helping ensure work meets building codes and design specifications. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with no mandatory weekends. Pay starts at $25.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience.
Requirements
- At least 4–5 years of professional carpentry experience, or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
- Mastery of residential and commercial framing, finish carpentry, and standard power tools.
- Proven ability to read and interpret architectural plans and build accurately from them.
- Valid driver's license.
- Reliable transportation to jobsites across the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Responsibilities
- Perform framing, exterior trim, window and door installations, and detailed interior finish work.
- Guide junior carpenters and apprentices in proper techniques and safety protocols.
- Read and interpret architectural blueprints to carry out layouts and installations.
- Assist with tracking material deliveries and minimizing jobsite waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow OSHA and company safety standards.
- Help ensure work meets applicable building codes and design specifications.
- Coordinate with site foremen and project managers to complete projects safely, on time, and to quality standards.
