Staff Technical Program Manager, IT Audit & Governance

About The Position

MongoDB is seeking a senior, hands-on leader to own IT audit and governance across its applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and supporting systems. The role is accountable for keeping IT audit-ready, including SOX ITGCs and ITACs, SOC reports, ISO, security audits, and other regulatory or customer requirements. The position works across Infrastructure, Engineering, Security, Cloud, Enterprise Applications, and Business Systems, and serves as the primary IT liaison to Internal Audit, Finance/SOX PMO, and external auditors. It requires independent operation, influence without direct authority, and the ability to communicate credibly with technical teams and senior executives. The successful candidate will own the IT audit and governance program, maintain inventories of systems, owners, and obligations, coordinate audit calendars, establish consistent governance standards, and drive control ownership, execution, evidence quality, and timely remediation. They will own end-to-end SOX ITGC and ITAC compliance, including scoping, control design, readiness, issue management, IPE/report validation, and segregation of duties. They will also design controls embedded in IT workflows, run readiness testing, rationalize overlapping requirements, promote automation and continuous control monitoring, and manage SOC report reviews and third-party control dependencies. The role oversees audit issue lifecycles from identification and root cause through remediation, validation, and closure; prepares management responses to findings; reports control health to IT leadership, the CAO, and the Audit Committee as needed; and coordinates auditor walkthroughs, evidence requests, PBC timelines, and reliance strategy. It also sets standards, trains control owners, mentors analysts, guides co-source or outsourced resources, and contributes to emerging governance areas such as AI and emerging technology. The company is seeking candidates based in Palo Alto or New York City for its hybrid working model. MongoDB describes itself as a global data platform company with offices worldwide and more than 67,000 customers. It emphasizes employee development and a supportive culture, and states that it provides necessary disability accommodations and equal employment opportunities.

  • Contribute to emerging governance areas such as AI and emerging technology.
  • During the first 90 days, map the IT landscape, systems, control owners, and audit obligations; build relationships; and identify gaps and quick wins.
  • Within six months, establish a governance cadence with clear ownership and on-time execution, and complete a readiness cycle with timely evidence and no auditor surprises.
