About The Position

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be a high school graduate, or possess a G.E.D.
• Must have a complete understanding of the game of pickleball, knowledge of the rules and minimum playing experience.
• Must be able to play pickleball and demonstrate the skills required for pickleball.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with others for safety purposes and to allow for coordination of work.
• Must be able to recognize unsafe conditions and respond accordingly.
• Must be able to respond to emergency situations quickly while understanding procedures and policies.
• Instructors must abide by the guidelines and policies set by the district.
• The pickleball instructors will be representing the Morton Grove Park District.
• Must be able to stand and walk for a long period of time.
• Must be able to lift 20+ pounds if needed.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the Pickleball Instructor position.

Responsibilities

• Arrive to lessons/classes 30 minutes before the start of class wearing the assigned Park District Staff shirt.
• Set up all equipment and supplies as required.
• Instructors need to use their own pickleball racquet.
• Follow guidelines set by the Recreation Supervisor – Athletics.
• Notify Recreation Supervisor – Athletics and Guest Services if inclement weather causes scheduling changes.
• Attend required trainings and meetings.
• Perform the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies and procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor, Superintendent of Recreation and/or the Executive Director.
• In an emergency perform all duties as required.
