About The Position
At East Alabama Medical Center, the mission is to provide high-quality, compassionate health care. The Pharmacy Technician performs a variety of duties related to preparing and dispensing medications according to standard procedures under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support quality patient care. The role maintains medication inventory by verifying receipts, restocking items, and removing outdated medications. It also provides customer service to physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff and works collaboratively with pharmacy team members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in hospital pharmacy at EAMC, two years of experience in a hospital inpatient setting, or at least four years of retail pharmacy experience (full-time equivalents).
- Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate (CPhT), graduation from an accredited pharmacy technician training program with CPhT status, or an ALBOP Intern License.
- Must maintain certification.
- Alabama State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of hospital inpatient experience.
- Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT).
