About The Position
Assists the Pharmacist, under his or her supervision, in the daily operation of the Pharmacy. In retail areas, the Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications. The role also involves processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing customer service. This entry-level position serves as a stepping stone to more advanced pharmacy technician roles.
Requirements
- PTCB certification is required or must be obtained within six months of hire; this requirement may be waived for current pharmacy students enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration is required if required by state regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Previous pharmacy technician experience.
- Graduation from an ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program.
- 340B program experience, if working at a 340B facility.
- National certification from PTCB or NHA.
