About The Position

Children’s Wisconsin is hiring a Pharmacy Tech I to support inpatient pharmacy operations and help ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication delivery for pediatric patients. Working under the supervision of a pharmacist, the technician prepares and distributes medications, manages inventory, and supports pharmacy technology. The role uses a 7-on/7-off schedule: 8:30 PM to 6:00 AM for one week, followed by a full week off. Rotations begin Wednesday evening and end Tuesday morning.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or HSED required.
• Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration required before starting.
• Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician license/registration (License Pharmacy Technician (41)).

Nice To Haves

• Pharmacy Technician training program preferred.
• At least one year of pharmacy or healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, label, and deliver medications.
• Compound sterile products using aseptic technique and USP 797 standards.
• Process patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Manage medication inventory, including stocking, ordering, and monitoring expiration dates.
• Handle controlled substances and assist with resolving discrepancies.
• Support automated dispensing cabinets and other pharmacy technologies.
• Answer calls and assist patients, families, nurses, and healthcare providers.
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
