About The Position
MercyOne is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Tech I to assist with the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy under the supervision of a pharmacist. The role includes preparing and distributing medications to patients and patient care areas, and performing related duties in accordance with MercyOne’s mission, vision, values, and performance expectations. The position is full-time, with rotating eight-hour shifts.
Requirements
- Register with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee before starting employment, or be registered with the State of Iowa as a Pharmacy Intern at the time of hire.
- Obtain Pharmacy Certified Technician certification within 12 months of registration with the Board of Pharmacy.
Responsibilities
- Use medication orders to identify, locate, and pull the appropriate quantity of medication.
- Prepare medication for dispensing.
- Package medication orders for delivery.
- Deliver prescription orders to patients or patient care areas under direction.
- Perform computer data-entry and printing functions.
- Gather information needed to prepare prescriptions and perform other pharmacy functions.
- Enter accurate and complete data into the computer system.
- Verify and maintain up-to-date information.
