About The Position

The Inpatient Pharmacy Tech assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications. The technician works under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and in accordance with Minnesota State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations. This is an on-site role with day/evening shifts, 8-hour shifts, 80 hours per two-week pay period, and an every-other-weekend requirement. There is no call requirement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• A diploma from an approved pharmacy technician training program, completion of an employer-based training program, or one year of experience as a pharmacy technician in lieu of an accredited pharmacy technician diploma.
• At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician, or a diploma/certificate from an approved pharmacy technician training program in lieu of experience.
• Computer and keyboard skills.
• Minnesota State Board of Pharmacy Technician registration.
• Valid certification from a national pharmacy technician certification body as defined by the Board of Pharmacy, obtained within one year of hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in the preparation of medications.
• Assist pharmacists in the distribution of medications.
• Work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist in accordance with State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
