About The Position

Requirements

• At least three years of experience repairing heavy trucks or construction equipment
• Current diesel or heavy-equipment mechanic certification
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, drivetrains, brakes, and diagnostic equipment
• Ability to diagnose and complete repairs independently
• Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Must provide basic hand tools
• Must pass required background screening and drug testing

Nice To Haves

• Active ASE Medium/Heavy Truck certifications (T1–T8)
• ASE Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician certification
• Active ASE Construction Equipment certifications (E1–E3)
• ASE Master Construction Equipment Technician certification
• OEM-specific training or certifications for manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Volvo, International, Freightliner, or John Deere
• EPA Section 609 certification for servicing vehicle air-conditioning systems and handling refrigerants
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Welding or fabrication certification
• Diesel Technology degree, diploma, or recognized vocational training

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, transmissions, drivetrains, suspension, and HVAC systems
• Service excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, dump trucks, and other construction equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine equipment inspections
• Troubleshoot equipment using diagnostic software, service manuals, and schematics
• Complete repairs in the shop and on active job sites
• Perform road tests and operational checks when authorized
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Communicate repair needs, timelines, and parts requirements to management
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company and OSHA safety requirements
