Health Policy Analyst Advanced Special Assistant

About The Position

This is a full-time contractual position that provides advanced level support for the design, development, implementation, management, and evaluation of high-priority and high-visibility policy initiatives and projects within the Medicaid Pharmacy Program. The role acts as a technical advisor, furnishing information to the Director and Deputy Director of the Office of Pharmacy Services (OPS), policymakers, and other MDH executive staff on matters concerning health care services, financing, and regulation. The position serves as an expert consultant on policy and data analysis, conducts research, develops and writes reports and evaluations, performs fiscal impact studies, develops regulations and legislative proposals, creates and delivers presentations, manages all state and federal audits, Freedom of Information requests, subpoenas, and surveys, and assists the Director of OPS in the development and forecasting of the annual budget for OPS. The role participates in and leads stakeholder committees and workgroups for policy development, and represents the OPS at public meetings on pharmacy-related matters.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced level support for the design, development, implementation, management and evaluation of high-priority and high visibility policy initiatives and projects in the Medicaid Pharmacy Program.
