The Sr. Research Data Analyst supports health economics and health services research projects led by faculty in the Department of Health Policy and Management. Projects examine topics including the health of older adults, mental health and substance use, value in Medicare and Medicaid, health care affordability, and improving the value and quality of health care delivery. The role is suited to candidates interested in applied academic research, including those considering a PhD in health economics or health services research. The analyst builds complex data models and conducts complex data analysis in support of research projects, programs, and studies, coordinating data and analysis activities across multiple studies. Work primarily involves constructing analytic datasets from large administrative sources such as health insurance claims, electronic health records, employment records, and population survey data. Responsibilities include data management and quality assessment, data linkage and integration, and applying statistical and econometric methods under faculty guidance. The analyst may also work with less structured sources such as clinical notes or business ownership records. The position offers opportunities to contribute intellectually to research projects and, when contributions warrant, to coauthor resulting manuscripts. The role is full-time and hybrid at the School of Public Health, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The starting salary range is $57,195–$100,040 annually, commensurate with experience.
