The Department of Health Policy is seeking qualified health policy data analyst candidates to provide support for complex quantitative research projects in health policy, public health, or related disciplines under occasional faculty guidance. This position utilizes intermediate level research skills to perform a variety of quantitative research activities including data management, analysis of quantitative data, and report preparation. The ideal candidate will work well with multiple faculty members and projects simultaneously, be self-directed, think critically about complex data, proactively identify and resolve problems, and complete assignments in a timely manner. Familiarity with administrative healthcare claims data is requested, experience with T-MSIS analytic files in particular is desired. In addition to creating analytic datasets from dissimilar data sources, the responsibilities of this position will include quantitative and written data analysis on issues of current policy interest, including health reform, Medicare/Medicaid spending and utilization patterns, health information technology, population health, and health care disparities. Examples of projects may include: Analyzing trends in health care expenditures for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, Evaluating options for improving the value of care delivered to patients in diverse settings, Comparing patient clinical outcomes using healthcare claims linked with other data sources. This position requires a Master's degree, or equivalent work experience. You will enjoy a hybrid work schedule Monday-Friday, standard daytime business hours. You will need to report to our office at 2525 West End Ave. a couple of times a week.
