About The Position

The Drug-GM Clerk creates an outstanding customer experience by providing exceptional service and maintaining a safe, clean environment. The position supports the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals and monitoring quality assurance standards. The position also requires cooperative work in a fast-paced environment, appropriate handling of conflict, and support for customers who may be minors, older adults, or people with special needs. Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
  • Maintain product knowledge and respond to questions or suggest products.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
  • Inform customers about Drug GM specials and recommend items that meet their needs.
  • Review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and stay current on current, future, seasonal, and special advertisements.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify store management.
  • Inspect equipment as part of preventive maintenance and report items needing repair.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Report safety risks, issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment; manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.
  • Handle customer and business information honestly and with integrity; follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
