About The Position

We are looking for a GIS Analyst to join our Calgary team for a Maternity Leave. In this role, you will contribute to mapping, spatial analysis, data processing, automation, and enterprise GIS initiatives while supporting major projects and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in GIS, Geomatics Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional GIS, geomatics, or geospatial experience.
  • Extensive experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and Portal.
  • Strong spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and automation skills using Python, ModelBuilder, and Esri tools.
  • Experience processing and analyzing UAV, LiDAR, imagery, DEM/DSM, raster, vector, CAD, and satellite-derived data.
  • Experience with terrain and surface modelling, including contours, slope, cut/fill, and volumetric analysis.
  • Strong understanding of geodatabases, SDE, SQL, spatial data management, and QA/QC.
  • Experience integrating GPS/GNSS and field survey data with GIS.
  • Strong understanding of coordinate systems, projections, transformations, and geospatial data conversion.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online, Portal, Experience Builder, dashboards, and web GIS applications.
  • Knowledge of Western Canadian land survey systems and datasets, including DIDS, BCER, and AER.
  • Experience supporting engineering, environmental, energy, municipal, pipeline, infrastructure, asset management, or land development projects.
  • Ability to develop customized GIS workflows and solutions to meet project and client requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AWS S3, Global Mapper, QGIS, or other remote-sensing and point-cloud processing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality mapping, cartography, and geospatial visualizations for engineering, environmental, energy, municipal, and infrastructure projects.
  • Create, manage, analyze, and maintain spatial datasets within enterprise GIS environments.
  • Process and integrate survey, CAD, UAV, LiDAR, imagery, DEM/DSM, satellite-derived, and other geospatial data.
  • Perform terrain and surface analysis, including elevation models, contours, slope, cut/fill, and volumetric calculations.
  • Develop automated GIS and data-processing workflows using Python, ModelBuilder, and Esri geoprocessing tools.
  • Process and integrate GPS/GNSS and field survey data, including topographic, legal, construction, and control surveys.
  • Develop web maps, dashboards, field applications, and enterprise GIS solutions to support project and field operations.
  • Provide technical GIS support and develop customized geospatial solutions while maintaining data quality and Global Raymac standards.
