About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) WISH Women’s & Infants’ Supplemental Help/Float Pool Full-time Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together · Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104 · The Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a MAGNET , and Texas 10-Step facility, has previously been named “Best Place to Have a Baby” and is a Maternal Level IV designated facility · Work hours: Full Time Nights (6:45PM-7:15AM) for 36 hours/week, with Weekend and holiday requirements. Women’s & Infants’ Services Department highlights: · Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth · Will float to Labor & Delivery (LDR), Mother/Baby (couplet care), Neonatal ICU (NICU) and GYN/Antepartum · 18-bed LDR's, 5-bay OB/ED, 5 triage rooms, 3 OR suites · Average 275 + deliveries per month · Wide range of patients and plan of care – water births, nitrous oxide, Midwifery and high-risk patients . · 63-bed Level III NICU – will work with Level II infants · 27-bed Mother/Baby, couplet care unit

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program required.
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required
  • NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training maintained annually within 90 days required.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN is preferred
  • One (1) year or more of Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP) setting RN experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
