About The Position
Guardian Flight is hiring a Fixed Wing Pilot to provide medical air transportation services and fly a Pilatus PC12. The position is based in Iron Mountain, Michigan, with a 14-days-on, 14-days-off schedule and day or night trips. Pilots work on a professional team committed to high safety standards for crew members and customers. The role involves working with medical experts to transport customers to and from locations and facilities. Pilots are responsible for aircraft readiness, compliance with applicable manuals, Federal Aviation Regulations and company requirements, aircraft cleanliness, accurate documentation, and effective communication with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners. Pilots also provide shift-change information and maintain required certifications and ongoing ground and air training. The posting lists an annual salary range of $94,850.77–$104,335.85, a $15,000 sign-on bonus (after completing training and a check ride), and a $40,000 retention bonus (a three-year program with a six-month waiting period). Requirements
- Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land (C-ASEL) certification.
- At least 2,500 total flight hours.
- At least 2,000 fixed-wing hours.
- At least 1,000 pilot-in-command (PIC) hours.
- At least 500 cross-country hours.
- At least 100 night hours.
- At least 75 instrument hours, including 50 hours in actual flight.
- Ability to provide logbooks listing flight dates and corresponding hours, with cumulative totals substantiating the time reported on the resume.
- Willingness and ability to obtain an ATP within five years of employment.
- Valid, unexpired driver's license.
- Current, unexpired FAA First- or Second-Class Medical Certificate.
- Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions and work day, night, and overnight shifts as assigned.
Nice To Haves
- Single-pilot IFR experience is described as ideal.
- Previous medevac and/or cargo experience.
- At least a high school diploma, GED equivalent, or higher.
Responsibilities
- Work with a team of medical experts to safely transport customers to and from locations and facilities.
- Ensure the aircraft is ready for dispatch according to applicable manuals, FAR and company requirements, and perform aircraft cleanliness duties.
- Maintain accurate company and regulatory documentation and records, including shift records and load manifests.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with air and ground dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners.
- Provide shift-change information to the transitioning pilot and team, and follow protocols for recording company change-board details.
- Maintain required certifications and complete ongoing ground and air training.
- Meet expectations for punctuality, reliability, professionalism, safety, and service.
- As needed, de-ice the plane, assist with towing and maneuvering the aircraft in and out of the hangar, and prepare it for flight.
