Requirements

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. Required
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding and medical terminology.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Accurate computer typing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year health care experience.
  • Preferred knowledge of registration and billing and credit scoring.

Responsibilities

  • Administering the Medicaid Presumptive Eligibility, Medical disability, long term care applications and Hospital Financial Assistance Programs.
  • Act as a liaison between the patients, physician, patient clinics, accounts, and community agencies.
  • Performing financial screenings on patients and making a determination based on provided information; therefore directing the patient to the appropriate financial program.
  • Counseling patients regarding their financial obligation and collection of monies owed for medical services.
  • Administering and counseling insured and non-insured patients on payment plans and/or package pricing, and writing off or adjusting all accounts as deemed necessary.
  • Interacts with executives and other leadership on approval of payment plans or settlements.
  • Works closely with the Patient Representatives in researching and handling patient complaints related to billing.
