About The Position

Requirements

• Five to seven years of progressive management level experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Engineering, and Shop Supervision.
• Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess problems or issues with manufacturing equipment.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude, communication, and computer skills.
• Ability to gather, manipulate, and analyze data.
• Extensive knowledge of production principles and techniques.
• Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.
• Experience in managing projects from proposal through implementation and evaluation.
• Proficient in mechanical assembly.
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing required.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Five to seven or more years of experience in fabrication, welding and assembly of construction and agricultural equipment is preferred.
• Preferred experience in assembly lines.
• Attend special courses or seminars and read current articles and books to keep well informed in new manufacturing developments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the introduction of new products, parts, and manufactured processes, including routings, processes, and methods.
• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
• Manage and provide guidance to Manufacturing Engineers, overseeing their direction, coordination, and performance evaluation.
• Provide leadership and direction to the Manufacturing Engineering Team, fostering positive team dynamics for high performance.
• Review and provide initial approval for equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposals for integrating machinery and equipment.
• Determine processes, identify materials and supplies, and design necessary fixtures for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing.
• Ensure new parts and optimization projects are completed by deadlines, within budget, and with robust processes.
• Integrate work with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Scheduling Departments for a smooth flow of quality products.
• Establish bills of material, manufacturing routings, machine burdens, and new work centers.
• Create work instructions for new products.
• Design tools and machines used in product manufacturing.
• Review production program equipment, hardware, and tooling, recommending repairs or replacements.
• Oversee the development of new processes, methods, and production controls.
• Install new equipment, ensure its correct operation, and train others on its use.
• Maintain knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications, recommending and implementing new technologies and processes.
• Process internal engineering change orders (ECOs), incorporate changes, and ensure their effective implementation.
• Study and record time, motion, methods, and speed for production operations to establish standard production rates and improve efficiencies.
• Institute changes in production processes and/or recommend adjustments to product pricing.
• Perform engineering activities in compliance with company and manufacturing standards, engineering principles, customer requirements, and specifications.
• Confer with customers and engineering staff regarding product design and tooling for efficient production methods.
• Confer with vendors to determine part specifications and recommend equipment and material purchases.
• Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs for management decisions.
• Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations.
• Provide floor support for the assigned functional area.
• Work with Product Engineering on single input multiple output engineering functions.
• Approve all tooling, manufactured or purchased, used in the assigned functional area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
