About The Position
The School Secretary I position at Browns Valley Elementary School, within the Vacaville Unified School District (VUSD), provides essential clerical support. This role is crucial for maintaining smooth office operations, including managing the front desk, handling attendance, and serving as a primary point of communication for staff, the public, and other districts. The School Secretary I is responsible for keeping accurate records and providing information as needed, ensuring efficient daily functioning of the school office. This position reports to the Principal or Administrative Designee.
Requirements
- Proof of a passing score on the district clerical exam OR an online typing test with a passing score of 40 WPM (if not currently or previously a VUSD clerical employee).
- High School Diploma
- Typing Certificate (with a passing score of 40wpm)
- CPR/First Aid Certificate
- Criminal Background Clearance
- Tuberculosis Clearance
Responsibilities
- Providing clerical support, such as front desk attendance.
- Communicating information to staff, the public, and other districts.
- Maintaining complete and accurate records.
- Providing information and/or direction as requested.
- Assisting in assuring smooth and efficient office operations.
