About The Position

Requirements

• Associate's degree in nursing; or bachelor's degree BS, BA in Nutrition/Dietetics/Nutrition Science required, master's preferred
• 2 years Minimum of successful clinical experience in specialty area and demonstrated competence in teaching, orientation, leadership and communication
• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Minnesota required
• National Certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator through National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators required within two years of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree preferred
• Diabetes experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide diabetes education services for CentraCare Diabetes Center and Endocrinology clinic.
• Work with patients at all stages of their diabetes journey, in both an individual or small group setting to teach medication management and lifestyle and behavior changes.
• Work with diabetes technology including sensors and pumps.
• Maintains professional competencies by attending educational programs, participates in professional organizations, subscribing to the reading professional journals or other appropriate activities.
