Visit us online at: https://www.nwths.com/careers Position: Director, Clinical Services - Pavilion Position Summary: Director of Clinical Services, Behavioral Health Services is responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of the clinical services assigned and for the ongoing assessment and improvement of the Clinical Services activities. The functions include the provision of appropriate clinical services delivered to persons who seek such service such as: behavioral health assessments, therapy services and other behavioral health services as deemed appropriate. These services are integrated into the overall functioning of Northwest Texas Healthcare System. The Director of Clinical Services supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write in English

  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
  • Bending and lifting (5-10 lbs), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling.
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial data
  • Education and training in the field of psychology, clinical social work or other mental health discipline with academic achievement of at least a Master’s in Social Work.
  • Licensed or license eligible in one of the mental health disciplines in the State of Texas.
  • A minimum of five (5) years experience in the provision of mental health services at least two (2) years of which included supervisory or administrative responsibility.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of contemporary theory and practice on the management and treatment of mental disorders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passes and maintains a conviction free criminal background check. Conviction defined as the adjudication of guilt, plea of guilty or nolo contendere, or the assessment of probation or community supervision for a violation of the Penal Code.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates leadership skills in the provision of clinical care through a collaborative process designed to integrate services throughout the Pavilion.
  • Directs daily operation and activities of the Clinical Services department.
  • Supports the Performance Improvement efforts.
  • Insures consistent quality of care by all service providers.
  • May provide direct patient services in areas of competency as needed.
  • Exhibits effective leadership skills through planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating departmental functions in relation to the UHS and the NWTHS vision, mission, strategic goals and values and in accordance with JCAHO’s leadership standards.
  • Specifically provides leadership related to the fields of counseling and addiction treatment as these services are offered at the Pavilion; collaborates with Pavilion Nursing in program design as well as performance improvement activities for the Pavilion.
  • Provides clinical oversight for programming and other services provided by contract and staff therapists.
  • Supervises staff in the areas of counseling, expressive therapy.
  • Operates departments of responsibility in such a way as to meet the fiscal goals of the organization.
  • Implements value added programs and services.
  • Manages the satisfaction of department customers to include patients, employees and physicians through effective communication and appropriate responsiveness to customer issues.
