This classification is safety sensitive, subject to random drug testing in accordance with the County’s Drug & Alcohol Policy. The Superintendent, Processing & Disposal supervises and evaluates assigned staff, plans and prioritizes crew activities, manages landfill-related capital improvement projects, and participates in long- and short-term planning to meet future disposal needs. This role also involves developing and implementing departmental policies, practices, and safety standards, ensuring adequate equipment availability, and overseeing procurement of equipment, supplies, and materials. The Superintendent collaborates with Fleet Maintenance, manages general maintenance of P&D facilities and administration building, and oversees all operations, employees, and equipment related to the crematory. This position also responds to emergency situations after hours and on weekends.
