Founded in 1985, the Alzheimer Society Outaouais (ASO) is a community organization that supports people living with a neurocognitive disorder, such as Alzheimer's disease, as well as their loved ones. It also contributes to raising public awareness and that of various stakeholders about the realities experienced by affected individuals. Its vision is to be the reference in the Outaouais region for supporting people living with a neurocognitive disorder. The organization offers psychosocial support services, stimulation activities, day and respite care centers, in-home respite, support groups, workshops, and training. Its services are delivered from two service points located in Gatineau. Head Office and Gatineau Day Centre 440, Maloney Boulevard West, Gatineau Aylmer Day Centre and Service Point – Galeries Aylmer 181, Principale Street, Gatineau The ASO can count on a team of over 40 people, composed of nearly thirty members in its permanent team and over fifteen respite providers for in-home care. This multidisciplinary team includes specialists in psychosocial intervention, day centre animation, training, development, administration, and management. It is mobilized around values of respect, excellence, teamwork, and a person-centered approach, respecting the pace, dignity, and autonomy of each individual.
